1. Reflection
10 Reasons for Beginning the Day with a Devotion
Reason #4: Clarity
I recently had my annual eye examination. It included
the ritual of gazing at an alphabet chart and having
lenses flipped until I could see clearly with each eye,
without straining. Clarity, not just vision but clear vision,
is a great thing.
When you think clarity regarding your morning devotion,
think clearing. So often we are paralyzed in our decision-
making by what author Barry Schwartz calls, "the paradox
of choice." Having multiple options can render us helpless
when it comes to choosing the best option.
Morning devotion creates space. In this space,
the haze of confusion lifts enabling us to discern
our best option. When you feel the sacred clarity, choose--
with confidence, faith, and no small measure of grace.

"Every decision has both cost and promise....If
the cost outweighs the promise, then you do not
take action; if the promise outweighs the cost then
you act."

3. Testimony
"My work load, and finishing my bachelor's degree, etc.
etc. etc. have put me at risk. In fact, the night before
your speech, I had told my husband by phone that I was
worried about myself--too much stress had me to the
point of paralysis (inability to decide what to do next) and
close to tears frequently. Your words and the B.R.E.W.
message will very likely save my health, if not my life."
