1. Reflection

10 Reasons for Beginning the Day with a Devotion

Reason #5: Blessing

Those of you who have read B.R.E.W. (or started reading)
know that visualization is an important part of the process.
During each step of B.R.E.W., I encourage you to form
or simply receive mental images that allow you to go
past thinking the process to seeing and sensing it.
Such sacred seeing can lead to spiritually enchanting
and surprising blessings.

Just a few days ago, as part of my "embracing personhood"
moment, I glanced at a picture of me as a child. Big-eared,
wide-eyed, and smiling, I seem completely at peace with
the world and my place in it. As I looked at the picture, suddenly
I saw a mental image: myself now, facing myself then.

After a moment, I "overheard" this single exchange:

Adult: Well, how am I doing?
Child: You can still hear me; that's great!

Then, both foreheads met softly, and the blessing was done.

2. Quote

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy,
a quickening that is translated through you
into action, and because there is only one of
you in all of time, this expression is unique.
And if you block it, it will never exist through
any other medium and be lost."

                                 Martha Graham

3. Testimony

"Morning B.R.E.W. is changing my life....I am
gaining a new understanding about God and
me loving me, and a distinction that I never really
drew between knowing about love and receiving it....
My B.R.E.W. has helped me to reach again my
center and my power to accomplish goals. And I
find that I am better able to, in the face of my pain,
dance in the Joy end of the pool."
