1. Reflection

Don't Be Scared!

Once, while shopping at a men's clothing store, I admired a nicely arranged coat, shirt, and tie combination. The salesperson wasted no time in assuring me that I would do well to purchase the arrangement. When I said that I had come into the store for something else, she insisted that I seriously consider the combination, casually suggesting, "It  would really look nice with a pair of jeans."  "Jeans," I screamed. "That sharp coat, shirt, and tie with a pair of jeans?" "Oh yes," she exclaimed, adding, "Don't be scared!"

I had to laugh. "Don't be scared."

Well, though I have yet to act on the clerk's enthusiastic recommendation, I have held on to her words.
Being scared or afraid can drive the living right out of life.
What is fear keeping you from? A dream? A desire?
A relationship?  New ideas? Yourself? God?

May your morning B.R.E.W. help you to face up to and face down
your every fear.

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

diploma."

3. Request

One of our B.R.E.W. Monday Subscribers in New Orleans
sends along the following important request:

New Orleans Public Library is asking for any and
all hardcover and paperback books to restock the
shelves after Katrina. The library staff will assess which
titles will be designated for the shelves. The rest
will be distributed to destitute families or sold for library
fundraising.  The books can be sent to:

4. Gratitude

Every Monday I get this surprise blessing. It
helps to give an introduction to the day's
journey, or light for my path so to speak. For the
blessing of the day, thank you.
